The Burnie 4 mineral occurrence is identified as being midway between two 2012 diamond drill holes in the middle region of the northwest striking "Burnie Trend" of mineral showings. The location is on southwest facing ridge sides above Craig River, approximately 6.5 kilometres southwest (200°) of the Bronson Airstrip on Iskut River.

In 2012 Snip Gold Corp. drilled five holes along the Burnie Trend, DDH SG12-25 and SG12-26 being approximately midway along the trend. The 225 metre drill hole SG12-25 intersected interbedded and variably altered andesitic volcanics and sediments with quartz-calcite flooded zones, underlain by a succession of carbonaceous mudstones enriched in pyrite-pyrrhotite mineralization and interbedded with volcanics. A variable to strong shear fabric and deformed bedding exists throughout the hole, along with locally concentrated quartez veining. Clay-rich fault gouge zones intersected throughout the hole are believed to explain the strong conductor at this location. The best intersection was from 7.5 to 12.0 metres downhole assaying 2.062 grams per tonne Au and 23.7 grams per tonne Ag (Assessment Report 33714).

The 200 metre drill hole SG12-26 intersected similar lithologic assemblages and alteration styles as SG12-25, with strong shearing fabrics and dominantly disseminated pyrite mineralization throughout, with minor sphalerite and galena noted in quartz flooded zones. The presence of weakly graphitic mudstone units may explain the targeted conductive plate. The best intersection was from 19.5 to 25.04 metres downhole assaying 0.274 gram per tonne Au and 9.1 grams per tonne Ag (Assessment Report 33714).
